T he following chart shows average monthly mini- mum and maximum temperatures in selected cities across the country. How- ever, they are only an indication. In a country as large as Canada, weather conditions differ tremen- dously, most especially in moun- tainous areas. In southern regions where at times summer can be very hot, air-conditioning is uni- versal in public and commercial buildings as well as hotels. Winter temperatures often dip below zero, necessitating warm outer clothing. In all seasons it is a good idea to dress in layers, so you can shed heavier garments in heated malls and buildings.
