However, they are only an indication. In a country as large as Canada, weather conditions differ tremen- dously, most especially in moun- tainous areas. In southern regions where at times summer can be very hot, air-conditioning is universal in public and commercial buildings as well as hotels. Winter temperatures often dip below zero, necessitating warm outer clothing.
