Mādahòkì Farm is Ottawa's newest Indige-
nous attraction. The site on Ottawa's southern
edge hosts four free festivals a year to
celebrate the seasons. It is also home to a
year-round Indigenous marketplace and
several endangered Ojibwe spirit horses

madahoki-farm).
Across the Ottawa River from Ottawa, Camp
Fortune recreation area in Gatineau Park plans
to open a peak-to-peak course of three zip-
lines stretching across 1,365 m (4,478 ft.) this
year. The property's other amusements include
aerial parks, a luge track and downhill skiing
(www.campfortune.com).
FOOD AND DRINK
From spring through fall, in many kinds of
weather, you can enjoy fine food and superb
views of the Rideau Canal from the patio at 1
Elgin. The restaurant recently installed a
retractable glass roof and sides (www.nac-

Food-loving visitors can also take a
cooking class or a new, self-guided culinary
walking tour with C'est Bon Cooking
(www.cestboncooking.ca).
Two bus tour companies offer beverage-
themed trips. You can visit local wineries
with La Vida Local (www.lavidalocal.ca) or
check out nearby craft breweries with Brew
Donkey (www.brewdonkey.ca).
STAY AND PLAY
Visitors looking for accommodations in
Ottawa have several new choices. Down-
town, the new reStays property offers studio,
one- and two-bedroom units, and a rooftop

The Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage
